I am Sorry

We all do mistakes. None of us is perfect. However, this is not an excuse for us to keep doing mistakes. We should learn from mistakes and try not to do them again. I think the first step to learn from them is by confessing them. At the very least, in my opinion, there are 2 important parts of confession: there should be no shifting of responsibility and confession has to be made as soon as possible.

God knew Adam had sinned against Him by eating the forbidden tree. Instead of confessing his mistake, Adam, however, shifted the responsibility to Eve. Imagine what could have happened if Adam had said, “I am sorry.” without blaming others?

King David committed adultery. However, he did not immediately realize it. Instead, he added this sin with murder. It took him very long to realize his mistake. Nathan the prophet had to come and confront him. Indeed, at the end he confessed without blaming others. But, it took such a long time. Imagine what could have happened if King David had immediately confessed his adultery?

Well, I guess saying, “I am sorry” should be a part of our culture :)
