CHC Trial 19, September, 2013 (Day 25-Day 19 Tranche 2): No Sham Investment, Covert Mission,

Yay!!! Fong Daw Ching confirmed once again that CHC did not invest in any sham bond.
After all, the leaders were always open to the auditors regarding their financial transactions.
Obviously, the auditors would have complained if they had thought the leaders made sham investment.

Foong also agreed that Crossover Project had to be discreet.
I prefer calling it ‘covert mission’ as Sun’s USA career is just stepping stone to reach out to China.
Also, ‘covert’ because Sun looked apparently secular in her evangelism mission.
Well, in the end, it might be too ‘covert’ that people accused Sun of being really worldly :P :P :P

One thing that surprises me is the difference in the draft of financial statement and the final form of financial statement regarding disclosure of CHC’s Xtron bond.
Both were done by the auditors .
Pastor Tan asked Foong regarding this difference. However, it is not clear as of now what Foong did with his questions.

Ehem. Hopefully the auditors can explain this difference.
It is not fair to blame the leaders of hiding anything…

CHC Trial 18, September, 2013 (Day 24-Day 18 Tranche 2): Light In The End of The Tunnel

Praise the LORD!
The defense managed to make Foong Daw Ching remember his discussion with the leaders!
It turned out that the leaders consulted with him a lot regarding church fund and the investment.
He admitted that the church never bought a sham bond.
With this, he has joined other witnesses in defending the leaders!
Woohoo! Victory is on the way!
Thanks a lot, Foong Daw Ching!

School of Theology Graduation Service 14, September, 2013

Last weekend the church celebrated the graduation of Bible school students.
It was an atmosphere of celebration and victory for the students as they have crossed the finishing line!

Dr. Kong Hee, Sun and Dr. A. R. Bernard passed the certificates to the students.
Also we gave award to some of the outstanding students.

Congratulations, everyone!
May the LORD use you all more mightily for His glory! Smile

CHC Trial 17, September, 2013 (Day 23-Day 17 Tranche 2): Possible Conflict of Interest, Not Answering Question

Ok, the defense got tough on the witness.
Initially Foong Daw Ching said “I don’t remember” to prosecution most of the time.
However, the defense would not let him get away with such a phrase.
Not when his answer may determine whether or not the leaders will face jail punishment.

One particular highlight is the revelation that Pastor Kong was willing to step down from the church management board to avoid conflict of interest.
Indeed, possible conflict of interest may arise since Crossover is a partnership and Xtron directors can be considered members of CHC too.

According to the defense, Foong Daw Ching did not answer straight questions.
Somehow, I have the impression that he was trying to dodge his responsibility after giving advice…

CHC Trial 16, September, 2013 (Day 22-Day 16 Tranche 2): Frustration

Just by reading the news I am already frustrated.
I can’t imagine the feeling of the prosecutor and defense when they questioned Foong Daw Ching.
Today the defense cross examined Foong.
Somehow his own testimony does not match with both his email to Serina and his qualification.

What’s happening, really?
According to Foong, he is not good with bond.
Yet, the leaders sent him email regarding bond investment.
In the first place, shouldn’t he have told the leaders to stop sending emails to him regarding bond?
For me personally, I don’t like it when my friends send me email I don’t understand yet they ask me to advise.

Pastor Phil Pringle’s Sermon 7, August, 2013: True Worship 2

Habakkuk 3:17-19
Even when things go bad, we can still worship God for who He is.
We should still come to church in the midst of difficulty.
God will take care of our work.

Hebrews 13:15
Sacrifice of praise: to praise God even when things are difficult.
We should praise and worship God for our past, present and future.

Psalm 103:1-5
Worship should be wholehearted. We should not get distracted.
Sometimes, we should force ourselves to worship God.
God’s name reveals His character.
He is holy: separate and full of integrity.
Forget not: we should remind ourselves about His work.
Worship makes us whole in the same way the one leper who gave thank to Lord Jesus, unlike 9 others.
The greatest reason we worship God is because of the salvation He gave.
