Pastor Kong’s Sermon 30, January, 2016 Meditation The Key To Blessing

Meditation is the most important part of prayer.
It is not just we saying request to Him, but also He speaking to us.
While prophecies and word of wisdom are good, they pale in comparison to meditation of God’s word.

Psalm 1:1-2
We should delight in meditating in His word
Psalm 63:5-6
To meditate is better than to eat the best of food.
Sometimes we can go to bed worrying.
However, we should meditate His word just before we sleep.

Psalm 119:9-11, 23-24, 27
David had a weakness of lust. However, David found help in God’s word.
Even when he was depressed, David found strength in God’s word.
Psalm 119:97-99, 147-148

Psalm 1:3
There is river of the Holy Spirit.
Our leaves shall be ever green as we meditate in God’s Word.
Whatever we do we will prosper, it does not mean there is no crisis.
Meditation gives us the confidence that God is in control.

Lord Jesus told us to abide in His word.
The more word of God we have in us, the closer Lord Jesus is to us.

Matt 4:4
Meditation is taking God’s word as spiritual food.

Meditation. Muttering. Chewing.
Thinking over the word of God times and again.
Spending time to squeeze out all the revelation.

John 8:37
it is not enough to just know the word. The Pharisees did not meditate on the word.

When do we have no appetite for food? When we are not hungry and our stomach is stuffed.
When do we have no appetite for God’s word? When we are stuffed with internet, news, company report.

As we meditate on God’s word, it is as if Lord Jesus speaks to us.

With every word God speaks to us, we become more and more energetic.

Proverb 4:20-22
The word of God is health to our flesh.

How do we meditate?
Shut the world out. Just the Lord and you.
Take scripture which the Holy Spirit points out to us.
Then, we slowly digest word by word.

We add patience to faith. Our blessing will come in time.

We meditate until we can see ourselves living in the fulfillment of God’s word.
