Wisdom of A King

“No one can comprehend the height of the heaven, the depth of the earth, or all that goes on in the king’s mind!”
– Proverb 25:3 (NLT) –

A proverb by Solomon.
A wise king certainly has his own to solve a difficult situation.
Imagine a wise and righteous king like Solomon during the early period of his reign.
One day he decreed that an innocent baby was to bisected into two parts.

Pause there for a moment.
What would you do if you were the soldier who would carry out the decree?
Would you immediately say to the king ‘You are mad, king!’ as the decree offended your sense of morality?
Or, would you trust the king’s wisdom and quietly obey the decree even though it was extremely difficult?

Anyway, we know the end of this story.

God is the King of all creation.
His thoughts and His ways are higher than our thoughts and ways.
At times, He may allow bad things to happen to Christians like in the case of Job.
At other times, He may command Christians to do something extremely difficult, e.g. telling Abraham to kill his own son.

Anyway, we know the end of the story of Job and of Abraham-Isaac

Trust and obey.
Can we trust God in His wisdom though bad things may happen to us?
Can we obey God’s commandment though it is difficult to carry out?

Let the following old hymn be our faith anthem.

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
