Gossiping Tongue

“As surely as a north wind brings rain, so a gossiping tongue causes anger!”
– Proverb 25:23 (NLT) –

There is fine line between gossip and sharing concern.
In principle, sharing concern builds each other up whereas gossip tears others down.

Gossip generates anger.
This is especially true for the object of gossip.
He/she feels injustice as he/she does not have equal chance to share his/her side of the story.

It has to do with a gossiping tongue.
The book of James Chapter 3 deals with controlling the tongue.
Christians are supposed to bless others.
However, a gossiping tongue is definitely a cursing tongue.
Hence, Christians must avoid gossiping.

Why is there even gossiping in the first place?
Because there is unresolved dispute between the two parties.

As Christians, we can always ask God wisdom to resolve any dispute so that we will not fall into the trap of gossiping.
