Omniscient and Caring God

Our God is all knowing or omniscient.
Unlike Him, we are not all-knowing.
None of us knows what the future holds.
However, we can rest assured that God knows the future and He holds our hands along the way.

What is the omniscience of God like?
Probably the following limited analogy can help.

Look at the image of the three candles above.
Due to the partition, one candle cannot see the other two candles.
However, from our perspective, we can see the three candles at (almost) the same time.

Here is what the image represents.
Candle A = our past self
Candle B = our present self
Candle C = our future self

Our past self cannot see our present and future self.
Our present self may still recall a part of our past self.
However, there is no way our present self can see our future self.
Nevertheless, God can see our past, present and future self at the same time.

How is that possible?

Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.
Psalm 139:16 (NIV)

Simply, even before we were born, God already has the record of our lives in His book.
In His book, He knows what we are facing right now.
In His book, He knows all our needs.
And since He sees our future, He already knows the solution to our needs.
And certainly, He already knows way in advance that we are reading this whatsapp text right now.

And here is the good news.
Not only does He know, but also He does care for us.

Casting all your care on Him; for He cares for you
1 Pet 5:7

We may be uncertain or even afraid of the future. However, God already sees the future.
Whatever cares and anxieties we have right now, let us cast it upon Him for He cares for us.
Most assuredly, He desires to give us a future and a hope (Jer 29:11)

Let’s keep trusting Him, shall we?
