Glorifying God Through Being Wise

My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him who reproaches me.
Proverb 27:11

The proverb is true in the natural.
When we act wisely, our parents will feel proud of us.
They will not feel embarrassed in front of others.
This proverb is also true in the supernatural.
When Christians act wisely, our Father God may answer them who reproach Him.

Who are these people who reproach God?
They are the enemies of the Lord.
In other words, the unbelievers who criticize God days and nights.

We heard the story of David and Bathsheba.
David murdered Uriah and committed adultery with Bathsheba Uriah’s wife.
David repented. However, the punishment was meted out.

So David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the LORD.”
And Nathan said to David, “The LORD has also put away your sin; you shall not die.
However, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child who is born to you shall surely die.”
Then Nathan departed to his house.
2 Sam 12:13-15

In the end, David’s family suffered tragedy due to David’s folly.
His son (Absalom) killed another of his son (Amnon)
Absalom even staged coup d’etat against David too.

How do we know someone is wise?
It is through words, action and thought. Though, some say action speaks louder than words.
What will happen if we act wisely?

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matt 5:16

Friends, our action is not only for ourselves.
We either glorify or dishonor the name of God through our action.
Let us be wise in all we say, think and do.
