Tested by Praise

Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but a person is tested by being praised.
Proverb 27:21 (NLT)

Fire tests the purity of gold.
Likewise, praise tests the purity of our character.

How do we handle praise?
Do we accept it humbly?
Does it encourage us to achieve greater goals?
Or, does it unknowingly bloat our ego, leading us to pride?

Some do good to earn praises from men.
However, as Christians, our ultimate goal is not to receive praises from men.
Instead, we should seek to receive praises from God.

At the end of our lives,
When our time has come,
When material possession doesn’t help,
When we stand before God,
Certainly, praises of men no longer matters.
What we want to hear is God praising us,
“Well done, My good and faithful servant.”

Let us always remember: our first and foremost goal is to please God and not men.
