Entering God’s Rest

For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
Hebrew 4:10-11

Consider the phrase “Entering rest”
Most of the time we hear of “having rest”, “enjoying rest” or “pursuing rest”.
We do not often hear of “Entering rest”.

Suppose it is a rainy day and there is flood everywhere.
As quickly as possible, we will find a building (e.g home) and enter it.
The moment we are inside the building, we are no longer concerned with the heavy rain outside.

How do we know we have entered into His rest?
When we no longer worry with the bad things which happen around us.
As long as we enter into this building called the promise of God, we can rest assured that He shelters us.

Do we have anxiety or fear today?
If we do, why don’t we enter into His rest?
