Be Wise, Be Honest

Those who lead good people along an evil path will fall into their own trap, but the honest will inherit good things.
Proverb 28:10 (NLT)

Lord Jesus taught us to be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.
This is practical advice as we deal day-to-day with the world.
There are many ways for us to gain wisdom: ask God to give us wisdom, read books, ask around or learn from the experience of others.

However, no matter how wise we attempt to be, sometimes the world may try to ensnare us.

Here in this verse, we can rest assured in God’s fair treatment.
What they sow is what they reap.
Those who try to trap us will themselves fall into their own trap.
Furthermore, as long as we are honest in our dealings, we will inherit good things.

Let us be wise and honest as we interact with the world.
Remember, we are the sheep among the wolves.
