Secret Sin

He who covers his sins will not prosper,
but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.
Proverb 28:13

Judas Iscariot is the epitome of double life.
As an apostle, He did not merely watch Lord Jesus create miracle; he even received the power to heal the sick and authority to cast out demons.

However, such a godly association with Lord Jesus did not automatically make him godly.
On the inside, he harbored resentment that Lord Jesus refused to be the king who would deliver the Jews from Roman dominion.
Secretly he stole from the treasury.
In fact, he betrayed Lord Jesus.

As the verse teaches, Judas concealed his sin and did not prosper.
As we know, he committed suicide after betraying the Lord.
If only he had confessed and forsaken his secret sin, what a completely different story it would have been!

Is there any secret sin in our lives?
Perhaps the Holy Spirit has been speaking to us to forsake certain sinful habit.
Let us confess and forsake it.
Otherwise, we will live a double life similar to Judas.
