Stirred Heart

Then everyone came whose heart was stirred, and everyone whose spirit was willing, and they brought the Lord’s offering for the work of the tabernacle of meeting…

and they spoke to Moses, saying, “The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work which the Lord commanded us to do.”

So Moses gave a commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, “Let neither man nor woman do any more work for the offering of the sanctuary.” And the people were restrained from bringing,

 Exodus 35:21, 29; 36:5-6

The LORD commanded the children of Israel to build the tabernacle of meeting.
The hearts of the people were so stirred that they brought offering for the work
In the end, the workers and artisans collected too much materials that Moses had to command the people to stop bringing offering.

What about us, the saints in the New Testament?
As we bring tithe, offering and building fund week in week out, what is the condition of our heart?
Do we give it out of routine or mechanical heart?
Or, is there really stirring in our hearts when we give?

What should we do if we do not have that stirred heart?
We can always ask God to stir our hearts to give to Him.
Most assuredly, a stirred heart makes us cheerful givers.

When our hearts are stirred and we obey that stirring, we will sense an approval from God.
An inexplicable joy as we sense God smiling upon us.
After all, He loves a cheerful giver.

Let us examine ourselves.
How stirred are our hearts when we give to Him?
