CHC Trial 10, September, 2014 (Day 70-Day 23 Tranche 5)

Yahoo! That’s the defense lawyer for you and me!
Senior Counsel Edwin Tong showed evidence after evidence that Pastor Kong did not hide anything from the auditors, unlike prosecution’s case.
He also showed that dual purpose of Xtron bond of investment and evangelism/Crossover is consistent with COC’s instruction.

Go go go, Pastor Kong and SC Edwin Tong!
Things are getting more and more interesting with Pastor Kong’s integrity getting revealed day by day!

Crossover Projects Videos

Many people have the wrong idea on Crossover projects done by City Harvest Church.
They claimed that this project is all about Sun Ho and her career, nothing to do with the church.
However, they are not aware of the evangelistic side of this project.
Hence, the following video was made to give a summary of what Crossover Project is about.

In addition to that, some church members have made a tribute video on this project.

Truly, I am proud of Crossover project too! Open-mouthed smile

Pastor Kong’s Sermon 29, March, 2013

Eze 37:1-5, 11
One day God brought Ezekiel into a valley of dry bones.
God asked him whether the bones could live.
Humanly speaking, it was impossible. Yet, God created a miracle.

1 John 5:19, Isa 6:3
God created a beautiful world. Yet, because of sin, the devil controlled the world.

Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off! (Ezekiel 37:11)

1.) Is there any dryness because of sickness?
When Lord Jesus was crucified, He brought healing to our physical body.
Isa 53:4-5.
If we need healing, only believe.
Emily was diagnosed with cancer on the skull. Slowly, she lost her ability to speak.
Radiotherapy didn’t work. She decided to accept Jesus. In 2011, she was diagnosed free of cancer.
When the doctors say it is medically impossible, it is still possible for God.

2.) Is there dryness because of sorrow?
Sorrow because of offense can only be cured with forgiveness.
When we can forgive others, God starts the healing process.

3.) Is there dryness because of sin?
Heb 8:12, 2 Corinth 5:15
Once the blood of Jesus is applied to us, God makes conscious choice not to remember our sin.
Jesus came to give a better life. It takes more than money to have a happy life.
John 11:25.
Far better life. Full schedule isn’t the same as full life.
Full life starts with Lord Jesus residing in us.

Pastor Kong’s Sermon 23, March, 2013: From the Cross to the Throne

What happened on the cross?

Matt 27:51
The whole creation was shaken to the core when Lord Jesus died.
He cried out in pain and despair.
Psalm 22:1-6
God the Father placed the sin of the whole world on Him.
Jesus compared Himself with past people: the Father delivered them but not Jesus.
John 19:34
Lord Jesus died of heart attack.
However, the suffering in the spirit was infinitely worse.
For the first time, the devil gained mastery over Jesus.

Acts 2:31, Isa 53.
Lord Jesus went to Hades.
His appearance became so deformed as He was so twisted with sin and sickness of the human being.
God the Father laid all disease and sin human ever experience in past, present, and future on Jesus.
Isa 53:3-4, 5-6
God dealt with sickness first before sin. It doesn’t mean we’ll never be sick. It means we won’t succumb to it easily.
Isa 53:9
‘The death’ is in plural.
Ps 88:7, 16
God the Father poured waves after waves of wrath on Jesus.

2 Cor 5:21
Righteousness: ability to stand in God’s presence without any sense of guilt
1 Tim 3:16, 1 Pet 3:18 Col 2:15 Mark 3:27
Lord Jesus all of sudden became justified even in the Hades.
He then bound the devil and conquered him. He ascended to sit at the right hand of the Father.

Ps 68:1, Rev 1:18
Keys: authority. Lord Jesus rules over the devil, sin, sickness and death.

Matt 28:5-6.
Mary immediately recognized it was Jesus. Jesus went to meet the Father first.
Heb 9:12
He first took His blood and offered it to God the Father.

Eph 1:6
God the Father received Jesus lovingly as the Beloved. We too are accepted in the Beloved.
Maybe we can’t grasp the concept of ‘Beloved’.
Don’t give up on God. Even though bad situation happens, God still has one more move.

Heb 10:1-4, Rm 5:1
Old Testament is just a shadow.
The shadow can’t cleanse any sin. Blood of animals can’t cleanse sin.
When the veil was torn, God’s presence left the Temple and dwelt in human’s hearts.
There was no more need for earthly priestly ministry.

1 John 2:1, 1 John 1:9
Don’t remind God, self and others of past sin.

Acts 1:8, 11
Jesus went up in the cloud.
The cloud was the physical appearance of the spirit of OT saints (who had been held in Paradise/Abraham’s bosom).
The disciples were united in prayer until the Holy Spirit came. United house will stand, divided house will fall.

1 Cor 3:16
For the first time, the Holy Spirit dwelt in human hearts.
Lord Jesus is seated in heaven. We are seated with Him too. Hence, we shouldn’t give up in life.

Pastor Kong’s Sermon 17, March, 2013: Identification with Christ

Apostle Paul made a point to get to know Christ.
He called himself a man in Christ.
The four of Gospels are the proclamation of the Gospel.
The book of Acts is the demonstration of the Gospel.
The epistles by Paul are the explanation of the Gospel.
Paul saw what happened behind the scene.

1 Cor 15:3-4
Paul received revelation from the resurrected Jesus.
Paul wanted to share the most important truth: the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.
The Bible is filled with plenty beautiful revelation.
However, if we miss the most important revelation: death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, then we might as well not read the Bible.
This revelation is the center of our faith.
The death, burial and resurrection of Christ are the eternal event with limitless power; we can experience it times and again in our individual life.
Jesus gets all the glory for everything He did.
We get all the credit for everything He did.
The reason we can be powerful Christians is because of His death, burial and resurrection.

‘In Christ’ means ‘Union’. ‘With Christ’ means ‘Identification’.
There are 7 areas we need to identify ourselves with Christ.

1.) We are crucified with Christ (Gal 2:20, Rm 6:6)
Crucifixion is the means of dying.
When we are with Christ, we are changed: our past self is dead.
Lord Jesus took away all our sinful nature and nailed it on the cross.

2.) We died with Christ (Rm 6:8)
On the cross, He became the judgment of our sin.
Hence, there is no more judgment for us.
Beyond the physical event, God, angels, demons saw Jesus’ spirit.
2 Cor 5:21, Isa 53:5-6
God the Father made Jesus to be sin for us.
Past, present, future sin of everyone all came upon Jesus.
God the Father allowed Jesus to bear all the sickness (eczema, cancer, heart disease, etc) of everyone in the past, present and future.
God the Father allowed Jesus to bear all poverty and debt.
Lord Jesus became a curse for us that He even cried out (Mark 15:34).
Lord Jesus was made sick, multiplied billions times for every human being (1 Pet 2:24).
If God can get rid of sin, surely God can get rid of sickness.

3.) We are buried with Christ
The devil celebrated Christ’ death as he dragged Him to the hell.
The devil mocked at God the Father, “If You want to punish me, You better punish Your Son as He is now much worse and sinful than me.”
Psalm 88:4-9, 14-17.
Sin deserves punishment. God the Father had to judge sin as He is holy.
God the Father poured waves upon waves of fury upon Lord Jesus’ spirit when He was brought to hell.
God the Father kept whipping Lord Jesus in tears until justice was paid in full.
The devil watched the ultimate display of justice and ultimate display of love of God toward us. (2 Cor 5:21)
Rev 1:5
All of sudden, Lord Jesus became the firstborn of the dead: He arose again.
He took back the authority Adam had lost to the devil.

4.) We are made alive with Him
Eph 2:5, Col 1:18
We are born again the moment we put our lives with Him.
He is alive not only for Himself, but also for us.
The moment earlier, He was so sinful.
A moment later, He became so righteous that there was no more trace of sin. He ascended to the right hand of the Father and prays for us.
We are more than just forgiven sinners.
When God the Father sees us, He sees Jesus’ righteousness in us.
It does not mean we are absolutely perfect. It means we should no longer be sin-conscious.
Sin consciousness hinders our relationship with God.
God has paid a great price to give the robe of righteousness. Let’s put it on now. Don’t wait until we are buried.
Not to be sin-consciousness does not mean we ignore sin.
If we sin (and we will from time and time), we can just confess it (1 John 1:9).
Don’t remind ourselves, each other or even God of our sin.
Understanding the righteousness of God is important because:
– God cannot bless without us asking Him. However, how can we ask in faith if we feel condemned?
– We can’t be sin-conscious as a church. Even though Pastor is the one on trial, we may feel guilty too. However, we should pray for Pastor and the leadership.

5.) We are raised with Christ.
Eph 2:6
Now, Christ even becomes the master of the devil.
With Christ conquered the devil, it is as if God the Father considered us to share the victory too.
What is then our problem compared to this victory?

6.) We are seated with Christ.
God the Father could have just stopped at making Jesus sit with Him.
Eph 2:6
However, God the Father decided now that Christians would sit with Jesus too.
Every spiritual blessing are ours even now.
We are seated far above every turbulence and thunder storm.
We are hidden with Christ.

7.) We are reigning with Christ
2 Tim 2:11-12
To reign with Christ, we need to endure stuffs.
In the midst of enduring, there is reigning.
If we can overcome this as church, what other problem can we not overcome?
We need to win this fight as a church.
Jesus Christ will be glorified through all this.

Pastor Kong’s Sermon 2, March, 2013: The Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation

2 Cor 12:1-2,4. 2 Cor 5:21.
Apostle Paul ministered to the world greatly.
Even though he never met Jesus physically, he received spiritual encounter and revelation.
He called himself the man in Christ.
The 4 gospels are like photographs of redemption.
Apostle Paul’s epistles are like X-ray images of redemption.
Even though he was in prison, he wrote down the verses of triumph: we should not live by our circumstance.

Eph 1:17-23.
v17-18. Apostle Paul prays that we should be able to see beyond our circumstance into His spiritual mystery.
What revelation was he referring to?

a.) The hope of calling.
It is about redemptive revelation. It is more than just personal revelation.
We can choose to live in low calling or to press on the higher calling in God.
How to receive higher calling? To be in Christ, becoming a new creation in God.

b.) inheritance. Rm 8:17. 2 Cor 8:9.
Jesus Christ died so we inherited His blessing.
We are seated on the throne together with Lord Jesus. His righteousness becomes our righteousness

c.) Authority. v19.
Power of resurrection: it is more than just physical death, it is power to overcome the devil.
This power has no limit. It melts away all demonic power.

We should receive spirit of wisdom and revelation. What should we do to receive it?

1.) repetition of the word.  1 Cor 3:6.
Repetition is like watering the word. We should not feel bored with the same word.

2.) yieldedness to the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit reveals truth as long as we are excited with the word.

3.) confession.
Philemon 6. Acknowledgement. Believing and speaking.
